Holmes Street Decorative Wall Replacement – West Side from Catalina Drive to El Caminito
The Holmes Street Decorative Fence Replacement West Side from Catalina Drive To El Camanito Project will replace approximately 1,700 lineal feet of deteriorated wood stake fence on the west side of Holmes Street from Catalina Drive to just north of El Caminito (see map below). The decorative fence being replaced was originally constructed in 1959, consisting of brick pilasters and redwood slats and is long past its service life. The deterioration has caused several property owners to build secondary fences adjacent to the original fence creating a mix of inconsistent replacements and temporary repairs. In its place a new 7-foot-tall painted redwood fence will be installed. The goal is to beautify this gateway into the City and increase pedestrian safety on the sidewalks.
