Traffic Signal Modification projects reconstruct, replace, install, and upgrade traffic signal equipment such as indicators, detection devices, controllers, controller cabinets, poles, communication devices, Accessible Pedestrian Signal equipment, traffic safety lighting at the intersection, battery backup system to reduce maintenance expenses, and bring signals in compliance with current ADA and MUTCD requirements.

This project includes:

• Replacing existing sensors with video detection cameras at the South S Street & First Street intersection.
• Replacing existing pedestrian push button system with audible push button system at the South P Street & First Street and Holmes Street & First Street intersections. 
• Installing a bike detection system and bike signal at the Holmes Street & Arroyo Mocho Trail intersection.
• Installing cellular communication at signalized intersections that do not currently have communication with the City's Traffic Operations Center.
• Replacing old video detection systems at multiple locations.
