The City is initiating a one-time sidewalk project to repair privately maintained sidewalks that can be fixed by sidewalk slicing at no cost to adjacent property owners. Sidewalk slicing is a process by which uneven concrete is ground down to remove trip hazards and can typically be used on sidewalk lifts of two inches or less. 

Using specialized sidewalk slicing technology, the project will repair approximately 15,000 sidewalks throughout Livermore over the next year. Sidewalks that cannot be repaired using sidewalk slicing (e.g. sidewalks with lifts of more than two inches or with other more significant damage) are not included in this project.
