The Downtown Sidewalk and Miscellaneous ADA Improvements Project is a long-term effort to replace deteriorated bluestone sidewalks throughout Downtown Livermore while preserving the character of the downtown streetscape and improving pedestrian accessibility. Damaged bluestone sidewalk panels will be replaced with stamped concrete designed to complement the appearance of the existing downtown sidewalks.

Below are examples of the existing bluestone and the stamped concrete replacement:

The project also includes Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements such as upgraded curb ramps, pedestrian ramps, accessible parking upgrades, signage, pavement markings, and other pedestrian safety enhancements. Work will be completed in phases to minimize impacts to downtown businesses, residents, and visitors while enhancing one of Livermore's busiest pedestrian areas.
