There are three types of inspection services provided by the City of Livermore Community Development Department:

• Building Inspections
• Engineering / Public Works Inspections
• Fire Inspections in conjunction with the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department

Building Inspections

Building Inspections include all projects that require a building, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing permit.

Building Inspections are performed Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, excluding City holidays.

To schedule a Building Inspection or Residential Fire Sprinkler Inspection, you may fill out the Building Inspection online request form or call 925-960-4430 no later than 11:00 PM the day before you need the inspection. Clearly leave the permit number, project address, on-site contact name and phone number, the type of inspection and choice of AM or PM.

To obtain an approximate time of your inspection, please call 925-960-4445 between 7 AM and 8 AM the day of the inspection.

Engineering / Public Works Inspections

Engineering/Public Works Inspections include all projects that are permitted in the City right-of-way including encroachment permits, street repairs, and City projects.

To schedule an Engineering/Public Works inspection, please call 925-960-4500 at least 24 hours before starting work. When calling, have the permit number, address, date work will be ready for inspection, either AM or PM time, and type of inspection requested. Additional inspections may be required during the project and will be explained by the Public Works inspector. Inspections also need to be scheduled within 3 days of the completion of work

Fire Inspections For All Multifamily & Non-Residential Projects

The Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department performs all fire related inspections including but not limited to Fire Sprinklers, Underground Fire Services, Fire Alarms, Commercial Kitchen Hood and Duct systems, and FM200 systems. To schedule a Fire Inspection, please contact the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department at 925-454-2307 48 hours in advance of your inspection.
