City of Livermore State and Federal Legislative Platform

The 2024 State and Federal Legislative Platform documents the City's position on several legislative categories. The positions and categories are based on citywide goals, priorities and policies, and community core values. The Platform also provides a framework to quickly respond to legislative bills and communicate with legislators on issues impacting Livermore.

The State and Federal Legislative Platform is an evolving document. The 2025-26 Platform was adopted by the City Council at its July 14, 2025 meeting.

The categories in the platform are:

  • Community-Focused Governance
  • Fiscal Stability
  • Affordable Housing and Homelessness
  • Planning and Sustainability
  • Climate and Environment
  • Building Safety
  • Infrastructure
  • Job Creation and Economic Development
  • Libraries
  • Public Safety and Emergency Management

Tri-Valley Cities Legislative Framework

The City of Livermore also joins its neighbors to advocate for issues and funding at the regional, state, and federal levels. The cities of Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and the Town of Danville develop an annual Tri-Valley Cities Legislative Framework with five to six topics. These topics overlap items in the City's platform and provide another opportunity for advocacy progress and success.
