The City of Livermore announces the appointment of Dustin Claussen as the City’s administrative services director. He assumes his new position today, Monday, Aug. 31.
Claussen brings over 20 years of experience in finance and administration, including more than a decade of leadership in local government. He will lead a department of 39.5 staff, overseeing the City’s finance, human resources, and information technology divisions.

Burch. “His financial expertise, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to employee development will strengthen our exceptional organization. These qualities will help our team continue delivering the high-quality service our community expects.”
Claussen comes to Livermore after most recently serving as deputy city manager for the City of San Leandro, where he supervised 48 employees and provided executive oversight of several city functions. He previously spent more than 10 years with the City of Hayward, where he served as assistant city manager and finance director. His accomplishments include creating a 10-year financial model to guide long-term budget decisions, securing a funding partnership that advanced a $55 million community park, and championing the establishment of a citywide economic development corporation to support downtown redevelopment and economic growth.

Claussen holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in English from Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga. He also completed the Senior Executives in State and Local Government Leadership certificate program at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Claussen succeeds former Administrative Services Director Tina Olson, who retired in May after four years of service with the City. Human Resources Manager Kristen Hilton was acting administrative services director during the transition.
